Spicy Bloody Mary Recipe

A Sunday morning necessity. Piri Piri Sauce is the secret ingredient that adds flavor and a hint of spice to the classic Bloody Mary. Cheers!
Spicy Bloody Mary

Ingredients:
  • 32 ounce tomato juice
  • 1½ cups good quality vodka
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Bruschetta Originale
  • 2 tablespoons Piri Piri
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Celery, Spanish Caperberries, Olive alla Boscaiola, Peperoncini with Pecorino, Artichokes alla contadina for garnish
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Bruschetta by combining warm water with the herb mix. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, stir vigorously and chill.
  3. Serve in tall glasses and garnish with a stick of celery and a skewer of Spanish Caperberries, Olive alla Boscaiola, Peperoncini with Pecorino, Artichokes alla contadina.

Pineapple Piri Piri Hot Wings Recipe

This tropical appetizer brings together classic American hot wings and spicy Portuguese Piri Piri sauce for an exotic and tasty starter. Don't forget to add pineapple for the perfect blend of spicy and sweet!

Ingredients:
Wings
  • 4 pounds chicken wings, cut into sections
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Portugese Rub
Pineapple Piri Piri Sauce
  • ⅓ cup Pineapple Pulp Vinegar
  • 1 cup Piri Piri Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Celery Sticks for serving
  • Blue Cheese Dressing for serving
Instructions
  1. Season wings with Portuguese Rub. Heat grill to medium-high.
  2. Grill the wings, until they are golden brown, crispy and cooked through, about 20 minutes. Transfer to a non-reactive bowl.
  3. While wings are cooking combine Pineapple Pulp Vinegar, Piri Piri Sauce and butter in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until butter has melted. Remove from heat.
  4. Pour ½ of the Pineapple Pulp Vinegar mixture over the wings and toss to coat.
  5. Serve with celery sticks, blue cheese dressing and remaining sauce.

Piri Piri Marinated Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Spicy and delicious, chicken drumsticks marinated in piri piri are an exciting way to kick things up with your dinner guests. These tapas are fun and easy to make.
Piri Piri Marinated Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • Juice of one lemon, reserve lemon shell and cut into quarters
  • 3 tablespoons Orange Blossom Honey
  • 3 tablespoons Bonsecco Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sherry Vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Piri Piri Sauce
Instructions
  1. Combine lemon juice, honey, olive oil, vinegar, garlic and 1 tablespoon of Piri Piri Sauce. Put the drumsticks in a baking dish. Pour lemon juice over and allow to marinate for 1 hour.
  2. Heat oven to 350˚F. Arrange the lemon shells over chicken in baking dish. Place in the center of the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. If chicken begins to get too brown, cover with aluminum foil. Cool chicken drumsticks in the marinade to room temperature.
  3. Serve with the additional Piri Piri Sauce.
